Introducing the International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC)
The committee includes 23 highly-respected individuals from 8 countries. The international, well connected and experienced make-up of the ISAC will broaden the reach of our promotion and dissemination efforts of Thorium Energy. We are especially glad to acknowledge two former Director Generals from two of the largest organizations related to Thorium Energy activities, IAEA and CERN.

The committee is comprised of members selected from internationally leading scientific institutions and international organizations active in fields related to Thorium Energy.
The role of the committee is to give advice on the scientific content and assist with the organization of this year’s Thorium Energy Conference – ThEC13 in Geneva at CERN.
Hans Blix, former Director General IAEA
He might be best known for his role to search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, ultimately finding none. This work he conducted as Head of United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission. Later, he became Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency. In February 2010, the Government of the United Arab Emirates announced that Blix will be the head of an advisory board for its nuclear power program.

Carlo Rubbia, former Director General CERN
He is a Nobel Prize Laureate for his work leading to the discovery of the W and Z particles (weak bosons), which are the elementary particles that mediate the weak force (interaction). The discovery was a major success for what is now called the Standard Model of particle physics, but better known within Thorium Energy as the force behind beta decays, which is essential to the release of Thorium Energy.
Rubbia's research activities are presently concentrated on the problem of energy supply for the future, with particular focus on the development of new technologies for renewable energy sources and Thorium Energy.
